Job Description

The Business Platform Lead will manage activities related to the successful implementation and use of multiple applications. He / She will represent Global Clinical Data Integration in application related decisions that may or may not have a global impact, including but not limited to the design, development and deployment of the process using the application, and work in close collaboration with the IT departments within our Research & Development Division. The Sr. Specialist will ensure compliance to Company, local laws and agency regulations and related guidance around technology. He / She will apply data stewardship and data governance principles in the management of the application.

  • Lead projects that deliver high value technical solutions that meets clinical business needs and organization adoption.
  • Arranges, facilitates and schedules meetings, demos and decision-making processes to ensure that the proper collaborative process is in use
  • Documents complex process flows and creates user requirements and user testing scenarios. Understands process of owner’s services and outcomes to define any requirements
  • Partner with technical owners to deliver the business the right solution with proper impact analysis
  • Manage projects from a business perspective, with appropriate technical support. With minimal support, analyses vendor release notes, evaluates build versus COTS, formulates significant components of a project plan, coordinates vendors, participates in testing, and tracks project progress. Leads multi-functional teams to accomplish project goals on time, on schedule and within budget
  • Works with customers on a continuing basis to understand and explain business and technical issues and to provide viable solutions. Provides vision, thought, and action in support of organizational goals.
  • Understands and applies continuous improvement and project management processes, policies, procedures and internal control standards.
  • Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Support the change management strategy and plan which at a minimum includes plans for stakeholder identification and sponsorship management, communications, training and organizational readiness assessment. Integrate content of communication, training and change activities to ensure focus on behavioural change.
  • Complement project communications strategy and generate communications deliverables as assigned
  • Collect, assign, track, and prioritize requests from users requiring modifications (upgrades or bug fixes) to existing systems; develop IT business case in collaboration with process owners/stakeholders and our Research & Development Division
  • Work with Validation, IT and Quality to align with our organization’s SDLC deliverables
  • Coordinate UAT by identifying testers for UAT, ensuring proper training is completed, develop test cases, track issues during testing and ensure proper documentation is completed prior to deployment.
  • Mentor Jr. members of the organization.

Requirements:

  • B.A. or B.S. degree, preferably in mathematics, science, a health care related discipline, or computer science.
  • A minimum of six (6) years of System Development Lifecycle Management / system validation knowledge
  • Skilled in MS Access, MS Excel, SQL or other database / query tools
  • Experience in creating Validation Test Plan, Summary report documentation
  • Experience with Clinical Data Management System, Oracle Database, Pharmaceutical Industry experience (prefered).
