This role is hybrid and requires you to be at our client office (250 Yonge, St Toronto) at a minimum 3-4 days per week - subject to change at any time.

Required Qualifications:

  • Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Business, or a related field.
  • Ņ–7+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst, with proven leadership in payments projects and solution design.
  • Strong hands-on experience with SWIFT messaging standards including MT and ISO 20022 MX.
  • Proficient in XML/XSD and JSON schema development and interpretation.
  • Experience designing technical solutions for complex requirements in the financial services or banking sector.
  • Understanding of payment-related architectures and application delivery lifecycles.
  • Knowledge of domestic and global payments ecosystems (e.g., Lynx, ACSS, CHIPS, TARGET2).
  • Strong documentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Bilingual in English/French is preferred for client-facing roles
Responsibilities

YOUR FUTURE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with client business and technology stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business and system requirements related to ISO 20022-based payments and broader payments initiatives.
  • Lead end-to-end analysis and solution design for complex payments modernization projects.
  • Conduct detailed gap analyses between SWIFT MT (legacy) and ISO 20022 MX (XML) message formats (e.g., PACS, PAIN, CAMT).
  • Develop message mapping documentation and transformation rules using SWIFT MyStandards, XML, and JSON tools.
  • Interpret and work with XML, XSDs, and JSON schemas for data validation and transformation purposes.
  • Understand and support REST APIs, and various communication protocols such as SFTP and MQ.
  • Work closely with architects, integration teams, and other stakeholders to define functional and technical specifications.
  • Support integration efforts involving payment hubs, settlement systems, sanctions screening systems, and internal banking platforms.
  • Participate in system and user acceptance testing, validating end-to-end payment flows across SWIFT FIN/MX and domestic/international rails.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on ISO 20022 strategy, implementation timelines, and SWIFT compliance.
  • Ensure adherence to payments controls such as limits checks, duplicate checks, and maker-checker processes.
  • Contribute actively to Agile delivery processes including backlog grooming, sprint planning, demos, and retrospectives.
