POSITION SUMMARY
Plans industrial capacities for semi-finished goods (SFG) and finished goods (FG) and/or procures raw material (RM) and components in order to meet Customer Service Requirements, planned inventory levels and scrap targets.
Primary Duties
- Understands current demands and updates relevant items and planning parameters within SAP/DDMRP (and other IS if applicable).
- Analyzes commercial and non-commercial demand for RM and/or SFG and FG, on firm and planned horizons, including products during their phase IN and phase OUT stages.
- Determines all manufacturing capacities (production bottlenecks, QC, critical suppliers…), identifies, addresses and communicates gaps within the Supply & Operations Planning process.
- Determines and shares monthly and weekly production schedules, issues procurement orders and effectively liaises with suppliers to ensure conformance to plan.
- Follows up manufacturing daily activities and anticipates Customer back orders; identifies and addresses gaps to plan and reschedules accordingly.
- Maintains current knowledge of business practices. Adopts and shares planning best practices
EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
High school diploma/GED with 8 years of experience analyzing, planning, and communicating manufacturing capacities and production schedules.
OR
Bachelor’s Degree and 4 years of experience analyzing, planning, and communicating manufacturing capacities and production schedules.
OR
Master’s Degree and 2 years of experience analyzing, planning, and communicating manufacturing capacities and production schedules.
- Requires strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Package: proficiency in SAP/DDMRP (Supply and Manufacturing) strongly desired. DDMRP experience preferred. Reagent planning experience highly desirable.
- Critical thinking and problem solving, ability to assess risks, identify solutions, and implement effective planning strategies.
- Strong ability to influence decisions and collaborate across all departments.
- Experience in leading cross-functional initiative and process improvement projects.
- Demonstrated ability to consistently go beyond standard expectations, taking initiative to drive improvements and add value across functions.
- Requires clear, proactive communication and a high level of self-direction, with the ability to make decisions and take initiative without frequent managerial input.
- Must show initiative in identifying and acting on opportunities beyond the scope of assigned tasks.
- Acts as a backup to the Planning Manager, providing leadership support as needed in day-to-day operations and decision-making.
- Demonstrates flexibility and commitment to business needs, including occasional extended hours during peak periods to support key initiatives and ensure continuity.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to remain in stationary position, often standing, for prolonged periods
Ability to adjust or move objects up to 50 pounds in all directions
