Overview Sr. Buyer - TIDC The Sr. Buyer - TIDC is responsible for the strategic and tactical procurement of technology-related components, materials, and service parts required to support business operations, customer service delivery, and long-term inventory sustainability. This role ensures the availability of critical parts through effective sourcing, supplier management, inventory lifecycle oversight, and cost optimization. The Sr. Buyer - TIDC works cross‑functionally with Service Operations, Engineering, Finance, and Warehouse teams to maintain a reliable supply chain that supports field demand and minimizes operational disruptions. The role emphasizes proactive planning, strong negotiation acumen, detailed analysis of inventory health, and continuous improvement of procurement processes. Responsibilities Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers for technology components, electronics, mechanical parts, and specialized materials. Develop and maintain long-term relationships with key suppliers to secure priority access, supply continuity, and competitive pricing. Conduct regular supplier performance reviews, assessing lead times, quality, fill rates, and service levels. Monitor market conditions such as lead-time fluctuations, raw material constraints, and obsolescence risks, and adjust sourcing strategies accordingly. Execute procurement activities accurately and in compliance with organizational requirements. Issue purchase orders, validate order confirmations, and ensure supplier adherence to agreed pricing and delivery terms. Track order status and proactively manage delays, shortages, and quality issues Maintain consistent communication with suppliers regarding production schedules, backorders, and replenishment plans. Maintain appropriate stock levels that balance service requirements with the reduction of excess and slow-moving inventory. Identify and execute cost-reduction opportunities through supplier consolidation, alternate sourcing, or SKU rationalization. Qualifications Degree requirements: Bachelor's Degree or the equivalent combination of education and work experience · 4+ years of experience in procurement, supply chain, inventory management, or related field. · Experience with technology parts, electronics, or hardware components (preferred). · Strong negotiation skills with demonstrated cost savings. · Proficiency with ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar). · Ability to analyze data (inventory reports, trends, supplier metrics). · Strong communication and relationship-building skills. · Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
