THE OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking a dedicated and strategic Senior Category Specialist to join our team. This role is pivotal in supporting our Category Managers by developing and executing regional procurement strategies, ensuring continuity of supply, superior cost management, and uncompromising stewardship. You will also manage daily tasks related to assigned categories, including quality and supply assurance, supplier relationship management, contract adherence, and pricing reconciliation. Duties include but are not limited to the following;

  • Develop a deep understanding of assigned categories to identify and quantify risks and opportunities.
  • Create and manage a pipeline of projects, aligning resources with leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Present category strategies to leadership, ensuring a strategic mindset and total cost of ownership.
  • Model various business scenarios, analyzing costs, impacts, risks, and benefits to recommend business solutions.
  • Lead sourcing activities, including inquiries, negotiations, RFQ management, and supplier follow-up.
  • Support savings tracking processes, measure contract compliance, and ensure targets are met.
  • Build trust and credibility both internally and externally.
  • Collaborate with suppliers, supply chain, R&D, and other departments.

    The Skills you will bring to the team

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Supply Chain, Operations, Business Management, Engineering, or related field.

  • Experience:
  • 3 years in a strategic procurement role.
  • 3 years in project management.
  • Skills:
  • Experience with procurement systems (SAP, Ariba, Business Objects, JDA).
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • High attention to detail and organizational skills.
