Sr. Cloud Operations Engineer (Cleared Talent Pipeline | Top Secret) 📍 Location: Hybrid in Charlottesville, VA 4–6 times per month (must live within 100 miles). This is more than just a cloud role — it’s a chance to: Lead at scale – architect and automate secure cloud infrastructure across Azure + AWS Make impact where it matters – support national security missions with resilient, compliant systems Grow your career – gain certifications, advanced training, and recognition as a cleared cloud leader Work flexibly – hybrid schedule, with options to collaborate from either Charlottesville or Arlington What You’ll Do Engineer multi-cloud environments: Connect and secure Azure + AWS with hybrid integrations Deploy and automate: Hands-on Terraform deployments in production, CI/CD pipelines, and GitOps methodology Containerize + scale: Leverage Kubernetes (AKS/EKS or similar) to deliver reliable, repeatable environments Implement cloud governance: Deploy Azure Landing Zones, develop policies, and enforce STIG compliance Collaborate and lead: Partner across DevSecOps and engineering teams to deliver mission-critical solutions What You Bring Must-Haves: 7 years; software development experience building software solutions using Azure in a secure environment (Python / Bash preferred) 2+ years Kubernetes production experience (AKS/EKS or similar) 1+ year deploying Azure Landing Zones and implementing policies Hands-on Terraform experience in production (CI/CD, GitOps) Familiarity with AWS networking (VPC, DNS, TLS; Direct Connect a plus) Security+ (IAT Level II) and at least one cloud certification (Azure or AWS) Nice-to-Haves: AWS Direct Connect / AWS Networking experience Crossplane experience Updated Azure / AWS certifications Bachelor’s degree in IT or equivalent experience Why Rackner We’re a fast-growing consultancy trusted for innovation, execution, and impact.
