QUALIFICATIONS

  • Proven proficiency in Mastercam or Fusion 360 for 3-axis CNC programming.
  • Hands-on experience with manual vertical milling and surface grinding.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T and blueprint reading.
  • Ability to edit G-code directly and make necessary adjustments.
  • Strong attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and mechanical aptitude.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

EDUCATION:

Highschool diploma or GED preferred.
Certification in Mastercam
Associate in science of Machining & Technology or Certificate in Achievement of Machining & Technology or equivalent

EXPERIENCE:

  • 10+ years of CNC experience
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and quality assurance methodologies.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to lead a diverse team.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating initiative and a self-starting attitude.

Responsibilities

JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE

We are seeking a skilled and motivated CNC Machinist/Programmer with a strong background in both manual and CNC Machining. The ideal candidate will have experience in programming, setup, and operation of 3-axis CNC machines, as well as proficiency in manual machining processes and surface grinding.

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Program and operate 3-axis CNC machines using Mastercam or Fusion 360 software.
  • Operate manual vertical mills and surface grinding machines with a high degree of precision.
  • Interpret and work from 2D and 3D blueprints
  • Apply strong knowledge of cutting tools and materials to optimize machining performance and tool life.
  • Edit and modify G-code for improved efficiency and accuracy during machining operations.
  • Utilize Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) to ensure part accuracy and quality standards.
  • Stay current with the latest machining practices, techniques, and technologies to maintain high-quality output.
  • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for consistent and safe machine operations.
  • Provide training and mentorship to other team members as needed.
  • Estimate time and resources required for machining projects and assist with planning and scheduling.
