Description Role: The Sr Commercial Credit Analyst is responsible for underwriting and analyzing commercial real estate and business credit requests to support sound lending decisions. This role prepares comprehensive financial and credit analyses, evaluates collateral and market conditions, evaluates third party reports, and works closely with relationship managers and credit officers to assess risk and structure transactions in accordance with bank policy and regulatory standards. Job Type: Full-time, on-site at our administrative office in St Paul, MN Key Responsibilities Analyze commercial real estate and business loan requests, including acquisition, refinance, construction, development transactions, etc. Prepare detailed credit presentation assessing borrower financial strength, global cash flow, guarantor support, and repayment sources Review and spread borrower, guarantor, and property-level financial statements and tax returns Evaluate property cash flow performance, rent rolls, operating statements, and lease terms Perform financial modeling including DSCR, LTV, sensitivity, and stress analysis Review third-party reports such as appraisals, environmental reports, and market studies Assess market conditions, property type trends, and geographic risks Ensure compliance with credit policy and regulatory guidelines Support portfolio monitoring, annual reviews, covenant tracking, and risk ratings Other Duties Comply with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control Exhibit Blaze’s Core Value’s: Better Lives, Thoughtfully Compassionate, Minnesota’s Best, and Give Back Regular and predictable attendance Perform other duties as assigned to support effective department operation. Requirements Experience/Education/Certifications/Licenses Minimum bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Real Estate, Economics, or related field or equivalent experience Minimum five years of credit analysis or underwriting experience Strong financial analysis and accounting skills Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word Strong written communication and attention to detail Preferred Qualifications Commercial real estate underwriting experience Knowledge of banking regulations and credit policy Demonstrated Knowledge Credit judgment and risk assessment Financial modeling and analysis Time management and prioritization Collaboration and communication Communication Skills Ability to develop and implement responses to members/staff to document and develop new and ongoing techniques to improve processes; written communications draw from expert information from the field as an individual contributor. Interaction with relationship managers, borrowers, and third-party vendors may be required. Physical Requirements Ability to sit and stand; answer calls; operate computer; interact with internal associates and members on the phone; travel to designated offices; lift up to 20 lbs. Please note that the specific compensation for this role will be determined based on your experience, qualifications, location, and internal equity considerations. The salary range for this position is: $78,500 to $115,000/annually. This range reflects the base salary for this position. We have other benefits associated with this position which include: low-cost medical (as low as $20 a paycheck), dental insurance, vision insurance, quarterly bonuses, generous vacation and sick time hours, paid leave options, up to 6% 401k contribution, and tuition reimbursement.
