POSITION OVERVIEW

The Sr. Construction Estimator is responsible for providing precise and comprehensive cost estimates for construction projects, ensuring that all aspects of the project are accounted for. This role involves collaborating with project managers, architects, and subcontractors to develop accurate proposals and budgets that meet the client’s requirements and project specifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze project plans and specifications to determine scope of work and required materials.
  • Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for various construction projects including commercial, sitework, and structural concrete.
  • Collaborate with project teams during preconstruction phases to identify potential cost-saving opportunities and value engineering alternatives.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain quotes and assess their competitiveness.
  • Review and reconcile estimates with project schedules and budgets to ensure alignment.
  • Prepare bid proposals and present them to clients, addressing any questions or concerns they may have.
  • Monitor and report on project costs, providing updates and insights to project management and stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in construction estimating, with a focus on commercial projects.
  • Proficient in estimating software and tools.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry standards, particularly in sitework, structural concrete, and MEP.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail in cost estimation and budgeting processes.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
