REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Complete freight forwarding or transportation diploma/degree program in Canada
  • +2 year of experience in transportation management, freight forwarding, customs brokerage, or warehousing and distribution services
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and time-management skills
  • Ability to multi-task and solve problems
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and team environment
Responsibilities
  • Build up a strong FF/TM operation team which requires supervision of 4-5 team members in Ontario
  • Directly report to Freight Forwarding manager and update financial status every week
  • Resolve issues respective to customer inquiries, data input and general customer service related to shipping, tracking & tracing.
  • Investigating and planning the most appropriate route for a shipment, taking account of the perishable or hazardous nature of the goods, cost, transit time and security
  • Arranging appropriate packing, taking account of climate, terrain, weight, nature of goods and cost, and the delivery and warehousing of goods at their final destination
  • Develop and expand freight forwarding partners (e.g. transportation company, customs brokers) as well as manages the services and performance of vendors, third party providers, and other relationships in Ontario
  • Oversee the preparation of Customs documentation, including but not limited to invoices, bills of lading, shipping statements, receipts, to ensure accurate and complete documents are prepared within designated timeframes.
  • Liaising with third parties to move goods (by road, rail, air or sea) in accordance with customer requirements
  • Arranging insurance and assisting the client in the event of a claim
  • Consistently oversee the freight from origination to destination and take responsibility for any occurrences while solving them both constructively and timely
  • The ability to dispatch freight, update orders and load screens while also properly closing orders timely through our carrier system
  • Deliver clear expectations in regards to the role and direction of team, promote and instill a positive work environment that is challenging and engaging
  • Periodically conduct training to the existing and new employees
  • Proactively address concerns, conflicts, and interactions with team members
