Description

The Senior Copywriter must possess the talent to manage, generate and execute concepts across all areas of the business. This includes development of original content for brand clients including name and voice generation as well as creative collateral, both for internal brand use and consumer-facing packaging and other brand or campaign initiatives. The Senior Copywriter is expected to actively contribute to the development of original solutions and create polished, final deliverables whether working solo or under the guidance of a more senior creative.

  • The Senior Copywriter should have a marketing background with a demonstrated understanding of how to create interesting original content.
  • Must possess a strong understanding of the digital, retail, and experiential landscape, with the aptitude to create original ideas and apply them to written treatments.
  • Proactively deliver the utmost in quality, excellence, and results for existing and prospective clients.
  • Concept generation for original content while adhering to creative briefs and brand voice.
  • Provide creative direction to Copywriters with less experience and assistance to ACDs and CDs.
  • Develop materials for pitch presentations for clients.
  • Oversee all written marketing efforts to ensure they are accurate and on brand.
  • Contribute to client strategy and team management.
  • Keep up to date with what is happening in the advertising and marketing industry.
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Education and Work Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in industry name required.
  • 5 years professionally developing written content for web, print, and or television distribution working in an advertising agency or marketing firm.
  • Experience and/or background and basic understanding of campaign production is preferred.
  • Experience working directly with designers and strategists is strongly preferred.
  • A solid familiarity with trends in marketing, advertising and the interactive digital space is required.
  • Thorough understanding of core advertising and marketing functions: creative developments, brand management, post promotional analysis, financial ramifications.
  • 1 year’s supervisory/management experience a plus.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to write creatively for a variety of formats, platforms, and audiences.
  • Ability to research the product and/or company to be written about, garnering additional background and current development information through research and interviews.
  • Ability to use background information and work with a designer or strategist to find the best way of communicating the idea to the consumer.
  • Keep up to date with what is happening in the advertising and marketing industry.
  • Can multitask and manage a variety of projects and clients at once.
  • Must be an assertive and creative team player.
  • Proficiency with computers including in-depth knowledge of Microsoft suite of products, especially: Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • May travel to meet clients, and to visit studios or locations for filming or recording.
  • Desire to grow professionally and a willingness to work long hours.
