Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Sr. Cost Analyst to join our team in Akron, Ohio. In this role, you will provide critical financial insights and analysis to support plant operations and drive informed decision-making. You will play a key role in monitoring costs, preparing financial reports, and collaborating with operations to ensure effective budget management.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough analysis of plant operations, comparing monthly financial results against budgets and prior periods, and provide actionable recommendations to address variances.
  • Ensure accuracy and consistency in standard costs and organizational cost tracking.
  • Oversee capital project tracking, fixed asset reporting, and related analyses to support long-term planning.
  • Monitor utility expenses and perform detailed cost analyses to identify opportunities for savings.
  • Serve as a financial liaison for operations departments, offering guidance on functional spending and cost controls.
  • Support the monthly closing process, including account reconciliations and financial statement preparation.
  • Assist in creating monthly and quarterly financial reports for senior management and corporate stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance financial reporting processes and implement improvements.
  • Lead efforts in organizing, coordinating, and participating in the annual operations budgeting process.
  • Prepare ad-hoc financial analyses for special projects and deliver strategic recommendations to management
  • Proven expertise in cost accounting, with a focus on manufacturing and standard cost methodologies.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience in cost analysis and variance reporting.
  • Solid understanding of standard cost accounting practices and principles.
  • Demonstrated ability to track and analyze costs effectively, including utilities and plant operations.
  • Proficiency in preparing financial reports, account reconciliations, and budgeting processes.
  • Experience providing financial support and guidance to operational teams.
  • Advanced skills in financial reporting tools and techniques.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
