Description
Primary Purpose of the Job Provide legal support for QatarEnergy’s trading & marketing activities related to physical LNG, including with respect to the negotiation of all related agreements, the administration of those agreements and the management of all claims and disputes related to the same, including price reviews (“LNG Trading & Marketing Activities”). In QatarEnergy, LNG Trading & Marketing Activities are undertaken by two distinct client groups, for whom the LNG Trading & Marketing section will be required to support; (i) QatarEnergy LNG Marketing, as agent and service provider for those LNG ventures who are party to the Marketing Services Agreement (“LNG Ventures”); and (ii) QatarEnergy Trading Required Experience and Skills - At least ten years’ experience in private practice or in-house, a substantial amount of which is in relation to LNG Trading & Marketing Activities. - Strong legal (including drafting) skills. - Experience of dealing with regulators and government representatives. - Ability to assimilate complex legal matters and to provide practical advice to nonlawyers. - Excellent command of written and spoken English. Effective communication skills. - Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team player. Highly motivated, proactive, organized, and self-disciplined. - Proficient in the use of Microsoft 365 suite of applications. Educational Qualifications JD/LLB (or equivalent) degree at a recognized university.
