Overview/ Job Responsibilities We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated senior Cyber Security Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cybersecurity, with experience in designing, implementing, and managing security measures to protect our IT infrastructure. This role involves ensuring the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of our systems and data by safeguarding against cyber threats and ensuring compliance with DOD and industry regulations and best practices. Overview / Job Responsibilities: Create, review, and enforce security policies and procedures that adhere to DOD regulations and industry best practices Work closely with network engineers and system engineers on the identification of vulnerabilities on all network assets, including but not limited to Windows, Unix, and Network devices Oversee and assist system administrators with interpretation, remediation, and hardening of systems to comply with DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) Support Information System Security Manager and Information System Security Officers in maintaining the system’s Authority to Operate (ATO) support by evaluating NIST controls in both a FISMA Moderate and High Environment Develop and participate in Contingency Planning (CP) and Incident Response (IR) testing, planning, and execution Perform risk assessments to identify potential security threats and develop appropriate mitigation strategies Scan, patch, remediate, provide mitigation strategies, and document security vulnerabilities in operating systems and applications Assist and lead security audits Salary Range: $125k – $145k Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Information Technology or related field or experience equivalent with 5+ years of relevant work experience Security+ Certification CISSP or similar DODM 8140 IAM Level II qualification (e.g. – CISM, CASP+ CE. Etc.) Experience leading Cybersecurity/Information Security audits Thorough understanding of cyber threats, information security, and monitoring & detection using the latest monitoring tools Experience configuring Elastic stack and ACAS (Tenable) scans and dashboards Position Details: Position requires some travel throughout the Colorado Front Range Area (Colorado Springs to Boulder) Clearance: Must be currently eligible for a TS/SCI Desired Qualifications Knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S, etc.) and their associated common attack vectors Knowledge of/experience with space mission systems Experience working in Department of Defense or with Department of Defense or Federal contracts About Sev1Tech LLC Founded in 2010, Sev1Tech provides IT, engineering, and program management solutions delivery.
