We are seeking a Senior Architect (Data & AI) to support a federal agency’s enterprise-wide data and artificial intelligence initiatives. This role will lead the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and AI-ready data architectures aligned with federal AI and data strategies, executive mandates, and OMB guidance. Hybrid work environment and must be available to work onsite as necessary.
The ideal candidate will be a hands-on technical leader with deep expertise in data platforms, cloud architecture, and AI enablement. This position will play a critical role in shaping a modern data ecosystem, prototyping AI solutions, and driving innovation in collaboration with engineering, data science, and mission teams.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• 10 years of experience in data architecture, data modeling, and database design.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science, or related field.
• Extensive experience in modern and scalable data architecture, data modeling, and database design. Highly desirable if the expertise is in architecting design for AI agents and AI agentic workflow.
• Proficiency in tools and technologies such as Collibra, Databricks, Snowflake, AWS Glue, PyTorch, ElasticSearch, and graph databases such as AWS Neptune and Neo4J.
• Strong understanding of AI-ready data ecosystems and support for AI initiatives.
• Experience with cloud technologies, particularly AWS.
• Technical proficiency in Python and other relevant programming languages.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:

• Must have a Public Trust Clearance.

DESIRED SKILLS:

• Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, or another quantitative discipline.

• Design modern and scalable data infrastructure, including data lakes, data warehouses, and data pipelines.
• Ensure compliance with data quality, security, and governance standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI and data solutions into the agency’s operations.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance on architecture best practices.
• Design and solution modern architecture and solutions for current AI demand and technologies that stem from data and AI.
• Support initiatives such as Collibra, AI Platform, AI Ready Data Ecosystem, etc., ensuring seamless integration and collaboration across the agency’s data ecosystem.
• Provide leadership and guidance to other team members, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence in data and AI practices.
• Identify and analyze emerging AI and data technologies to recommend adoption and integration strategies.
• Evaluate and select appropriate technology platforms, tools, and methodologies for AI and data projects.
