POSITION OVERVIEW

We’re searching for a Senior Data Engineer to remotely join our IVANS team. This role will develop and optimize scalable data solutions that power our analytics and business intelligence initiatives. You’ll work closely with architecture and engineering teams to build high-performance data pipelines, improve infrastructure reliability, and contribute to the evolution of our cloud-native data platform.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop and optimize data pipelines using cloud technologies like BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, and DataFlow
  • Enhance data infrastructure for scalability and reliability, focusing on performance tuning, storage optimization, and partitioning strategies
  • Collaborate with engineering and product teams to develop data solutions that align with business objectives
  • Support BI and analytics initiatives, with a primary focus on Looker, while being comfortable with tools like Tableau and PowerBI
  • Automate and manage ETL/ELT workflows to ensure efficient and reliable data operations

We’re Excited to Learn More About You

Your experience may include:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer working with cloud-based data solutions
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and Python for data transformation and automation
  • Expertise in data modeling, warehousing concepts, and big data architectures
  • Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT pipeline development and orchestration tools like DataFlow
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform or equivalent tools
  • Familiarity with CI/CD practices and Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban)
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams

You may have other skills or credentials, including:

  • Experience in the insurance sector or familiarity with industry-specific data challenges
  • Experience working with large-scale datasets and optimizing data processing for high-performance analytics
  • Familiarity with additional BI tools beyond Looker, such as Tableau or PowerBI
