Position: Sr. Data Engineer with Snowflake
Work Location: Westlake, TX (Onsite)/ Merrimack, NH (Onsite)

Job Description:
Client is seeking technical services to support database development and data engineering efforts. The scope includes translating data models into optimized database objects, developing data transformation and loading processes, and optimizing database performance. The services require expertise in SQL, relational databases such as Snowflake, data warehousing, Python, ETL/ELT tools, cloud development on AWS, and DevOps practices. The goal is to enhance data management capabilities and support data quality and governance within the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Translate data models into efficient and optimized database objects in accordance with established governance and naming conventions.
  • Develop and implement data transformation and loading process to populate and maintain data within the created tables and views.
  • Collaborate with data architects and tech leads to understand data requirements and translate them into logical data model.
  • Document table/view definitions into Alation and enable data quality checks for required tables/views.
  • Optimize database performance by identifying and implementing improvements to queries, indexing, and table structures.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with relational database management systems (RDBMS) such as Oracle or Snowflake.
  • Experience with data warehousing concepts and technologies.
  • Experience with Python for Data Processing.
  • Familiarity with ETL/ELT tools and techniques.
  • Experience in developing data applications in Cloud (AWS).
  • Experience with Business Intelligence like Tableau and Dashboards is a plus.
  • Experience with DevOps, Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (Jenkins, GitHub).
  • Understanding of data governance principles and best practices.
  • Proven experience in understanding existing data model and develop the data objects.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Strong communication skills to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Job Type: Contract
Pay: $60.00 - $65.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
