Avanciers is seeking a highly skilled Information Architect / Data Modeler to join our team for an exciting 6 months contract with one of our esteemed Fortune 500 clients, based in Toronto, Ontario. This is a hybrid role, offering a blend of onsite collaboration and remote flexibility.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 5–8 years of IT experience, with at least 4+ years in data model design.
• Strong background in business intelligence and data warehousing technologies, RDBMS, Hadoop, and analytics environments.
• Expertise with Big Data technologies and platforms like Hortonworks/Cloudera Hadoop.
• Advanced Data Analysis and Data Modeling skills.
• Experience with Azure Solutions.
• Skilled in data modeling tools such as Power Designer or Erwin.
• Familiarity with Capital Markets data.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
• Strong work ethic, detail-oriented, and results-driven mindset.

• Translate business needs into data models that support long-term solutions.
• Partner with business stakeholders and developers to design and architect data models and database schemas.
• Create and maintain logical and physical data models using standard methodologies to ensure data quality and minimize redundancy.
• Optimize and update data models to support both new and existing projects.
• Perform reverse engineering of physical data models from databases and SQL scripts.
• Maintain data lineage and own the data definitions for all data tables.
