YOUR QUALIFICATIONS:
Two to three years market related experience. Additional experience in other markets, e.g., energy, shipping and refined products, would be advantageous.
An ability to understand technical and chemical processes.
Excellent communication skills which include a concise written style, excellent verbal and presentation skills, and the ability to communicate across a wide range of groups and personalities internally and externally.
Experience in modeling, forecasting and quantitative analysis.
Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
Degree in a relevant field e.g., Engineering, Statistics preferred.
Innovative thinking and proactive behavior, able to work effectively and efficiently within a flexible global team environment.
DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS:
Experience within the biofuels industry or knowledge of existing and emerging bio and renewable technologies.
Experience within other sectors, e.g., refined products would also be advantageous.
Experience developing large supply and demand models, or energy system models.
Understanding of low carbon policy and regulations related to fuels.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Team: We are looking for a biofuels analyst to join S&P Global’s research team. The Biofuels Research and Analytics team is part of the Energy Transition group, which offers data and research solutions clean energy technologies, biofuels and other low-carbon fuels. The team is responsible for generating insights into biofuels and other low-carbon fuels markets globally and for creating long-term views on supply, demand, pricing and associated adjacent factors of these fuels.

The Role : Biofuels remain a key decarbonization pathway for transportation, complementing more established solutions such as electrification and other alternative fuels. We are seeking a specialist able to further develop insights and support our customer base in their decarbonization strategies. You will be contributing to S&P Global’s coverage of biobunkers on a global basis. This includes researching, gathering data and developing insights into current market trends, regulatory frameworks, risks and opportunities, and long-term outlooks for the sector. You will work closely with colleagues across various Commodity Insights teams (Maritime, Biofuels, Refining and Marketing) to bring clarity to the industry.

Support research and create analytical content related to the biofuels markets.
Create, manage, and maintain models and databases to inform supply and demand, and pricing of biofuels.
Act as a subject matter expert for these markets, contributing to a wide range of S&P Global Commodity Insights publications.
Develop and deliver presentations and thought leadership on topics around biofuels.
Create charts, graphs, maps and other visual content that illustrates the trends customers need to follow.
Engage with customers and potential customers, demonstrating expertise and acting as ambassador for S&P Global pursuit of analytical excellence.
