Description

POSITION OVERVIEW

We’re seeking a Senior Data Scientist to develop and deploy scalable data science solutions that drive decision-making across our cloud-native insurance platform. You’ll work closely with engineering, architecture, and product teams to design models, run experiments, and deliver insights that support strategic initiatives across underwriting, distribution, and operations.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of business and data science—combining strong statistical modeling skills with a practical mindset for production-ready solutions.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop and deploy predictive models and analytical solutions
  • Build and automate pipelines for data ingestion, feature engineering, model training, evaluation, and deployment
  • Use AutoML tools where appropriate to accelerate experimentation and rapidly prototype solutions
  • Collaborate with data engineering and DevOps teams to embed models into cloud-native applications and analytics platforms
  • Support monitoring, retraining, and performance tuning of production models
  • Partner with stakeholders to translate business challenges into data science use cases with measurable outcomes
  • Maintain documentation and communicate insights clearly across technical and non-technical teams

We’re Excited to Learn More About You

Your experience should include some or all of the following:

  • Experience with insurance or financial data is preferred for this role
  • 5+ years of experience in data science or machine learning roles, ideally in a cloud-native environment
  • Strong Python programming experience with libraries such as scikit-learn, XGBoost, Pandas, and Matplotlib
  • Deep experience with SQL and analytical databases, especially BigQuery
  • Hands-on experience using Vertex AI, BigQuery ML, AutoML, or equivalent ML tooling
  • Familiarity with GCP services like BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, and Pub/Sub
  • Working knowledge of MLOps practices, including monitoring and pipeline orchestration
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to deliver results in a cross-functional team
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, or a related field

We know that talent comes from all backgrounds and experience levels. We encourage military members and their spouses as well as candidates without a degree or a background in tech to apply!
