This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Sr Data Steward and Analyst in the United States. We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented data professional to ensure the integrity, accuracy, and usability of business-critical datasets. In this role, you will act as the primary advocate for data governance, defining standards, documenting lineage, and monitoring quality across multiple domains such as credit, underwriting, and fraud prevention. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Product, Finance, Operations, and Engineering to drive actionable insights from large-scale data. The position blends technical expertise with strategic thinking, providing opportunities to influence AI-driven decision systems while fostering a culture of data excellence. Ideal candidates are strong communicators, independent problem-solvers, and passionate about creating a trusted, reliable data ecosystem. Accountabilities Own and maintain the business glossary and data dictionary, ensuring all fields, metrics, and tables are clearly defined and properly documented. Monitor and improve data quality by building dashboards to track completeness, accuracy, timeliness, and consistency of key datasets. Define and implement data standards, naming conventions, validation rules, and quality thresholds in partnership with Engineering and Product teams. Document data lineage and dependencies from source systems to downstream models and reporting tools. Act as the go-to expert for interpreting data definitions, business rules, and metrics for cross-functional teams. Mine and analyze large-scale datasets to provide actionable insights for credit risk, fraud prevention, and operational decision-making. Build, maintain, and automate reporting dashboards to track KPIs and support Finance, Risk, and Executive teams. Collaborate with Data Engineering to ensure pipelines are reliable, secure, and aligned with governance standards. Support AI/ML initiatives by performing exploratory analysis, feature validation, and ensuring data quality for modeling. Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Finance, Computer Science, or a related field. 4+ years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or related roles, preferably in fintech, financial services, or credit risk. Advanced SQL skills and experience with cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, Redshift, Athena, or BigQuery. Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Looker to create intuitive dashboards for business stakeholders. Solid understanding of credit risk concepts, underwriting processes, and key lending KPIs. Exposure to AI/ML decision systems, particularly in underwriting, credit scoring, or fraud detection. Knowledge of data engineering principles and modern data stack tools (dbt, Airflow, ETL pipelines). Proficiency in Excel for detailed analysis and reporting. Excellent problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills. High standards for data governance, integrity, and regulatory compliance. Bonus Skills: Experience with Python or other scripting languages for automation and advanced analytics. Familiarity with machine learning model validation and feature engineering.
