Opportunity

We connect with our customers through high-value, relevant, targeted content wherever our users are – on the web, mobile, in-app, bots, AI Assistants, and on our HelpX, social, and community platforms. We deliver proactive content and partner with real-world experts in communities and social to provide help, inspiration, and resources.
We’re looking for a Sr. Developmental Editor & Lead based in San Jose CA to shape Adobe’s editorial systems and on-page content strategy for help content and AI-powered experiences. This role blends system builder, strategist, and editor-in-chief, ensuring every Help experience—from web articles to in-app guidance to LLM responses—is clear, consistent, and impactful.
What you’ll Do
Build scalable editorial systems—style guides, taxonomies, workflows, and vendor programs—to raise quality and speed across internal and external content teams.
Lead written, visual, and AI editorial strategies, initiatives, and operations, aligning with design, product, and platform teams.
Guide vendor editors and authors with training, intake workflows, and structured review processes.
Ensure help content, experiences, templates, and components drive increased customer success with discoverability, readability, accessibility, and AI retrievability.
Provide on-page and in-app feedback that elevates structure, visuals, and information design.
Collaborate with UX and design teams on new content patterns and microcopy for in-app components that support user success.
Translate metrics, feedback, SEO, behavioral, and AI signals into actionable improvements and programs that create more valuable and effective help experiences.
Invest in strategies, initiatives and programs that increase our ability to create quality content on the first draft, with consistency and confidence.
Partner with AI/ML teams on RAG pipelines, embeddings, and clarity/structure rubrics for LLM readiness.
Pilot and implement editorial tools like alt-text generation, grammar support, clarity assessments, etc., alongside new tools or technologies.
Collaborate with product partners, marketing, content strategists, and visual designers to ensure effective content across multiple user touchpoints.
What you need to succeed
8–12 years in editorial, content strategy, or writing roles in tech/enterprise software.
Expertise in editorial governance and on-page/in-app content strategy at scale.
Strong developmental editing skills with a focus on structure, clarity, and user empathy.
Familiarity with LLM/AI tools, generative search, or chatbot optimization.
Background in UX writing or knowledge management.
Comfort with RAG, embeddings, and tuning for LLMs.
Experience shaping video, visuals, or multimedia Help content.
Strong cross-functional collaboration and executive communication skills.
