At Aviva we are seeking a skilled DevOps & Platform Engineer to join our Cloud and Engineering COE. This role focuses on enabling modern CI/CD practices across applications hosted on AWS, leveraging tools such as Azure DevOps, GitHub, Dynatrace, etc. You will collaborate with various application development teams to streamline deployments and ensure robust, secure, and efficient pipelines.

What you’ll do

  • Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, etc.
  • Co-lead modernization initiative of legacy repos and pipelines from Bitbucket/Jenkins into Azure DevOps/GitHub.
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or similar technology.
  • Manage and optimize cloud resources in AWS.
  • Support containerized workloads using Docker and orchestrate deployments via Kubernetes or Amazon ECS.
  • Integrate monitoring solutions using Dynatrace, Datadog, or similar observability tool.
  • Embed security practices into the SDLC including automated vulnerability scanning and secrets management.
  • Collaborate with development teams to improve build and release processes and provide guidance on DevOps best practices.

What you’ll bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in DevOps or platform enablement roles.
  • Extensive experience with CI/CD pipeline design for AWS-hosted applications.
  • Strong expertise in Azure DevOps, GitHub, Jenkins, etc.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Shell, Python, etc.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, etc.
  • Hands-on experience with monitoring tools like Dynatrace or Datadog.
  • Knowledge of cloud security principles and DevSecOps practices.
  • Hands on experience leveraging Github Copilot in day-to-day operations where measurable efficiency gains were achieved.
