Description

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • B.S. or M.S. in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
  • 5–10 years of digital design experience in silicon-proven ICs.
  • Solid experience in RTL design, finite state machines, and digital architectures for embedded/mixed-signal applications.
  • Basic understanding of analog and full custom circuit design
  • Experience with synthesis tools (Synopsys, Cadence) and flow setup.
  • Familiarity with digital design flow including RTL simulation, logic synthesis, timing constraints, STA, back annotation of parasitic, gate level simulation, equivalence checking
  • Excellent debugging skills and understanding of simulation tools (Xcelium),
Responsibilities

ROLE OVERVIEW

To expand our team in Munich we are seeking a Senior Digital Design Engineer with a strong background in digital RTL development and integration of digital control logic for analog/mixed-signal systems. In this role, you will collaborate and engage with members of cross-functional disciplines to architect, design, and verify digital subsystems that are at the core of Empower’s next-generation power ICs.
You’ll work closely with analog, layout, firmware, and verification teams to develop ultra-compact, ultra-efficient digital control blocks and contribute to top-level chip architecture.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with design team to understand the top-level requirements of the digital functions and develop specifications
  • Design and implement digital blocks for power management ICs, including:
  • Digital control loops
  • State machines
  • Regulators and timing logic
  • Calibration and trimming logic
  • Communication interfaces (e.g., PMBus, AVSbus, I2C/SPI, PCMI)
  • Write synthesizable RTL with high reliability and efficiency.
  • Work with AMS teams to integrate digital RTL in mixed-signal simulation environments.
  • Execute synthesis, linting, CDC/STA checks, and backend support as needed.
