Senior Director, Resource Development  Job Summary: Reporting to the Chief Strategy Officer, and serving as an integral member of the Development team, the Senior Director will be responsible for administrative oversight of departmental operations. The Senior Director will ensure that all operational processes run smoothly, efficiently and in a timely manner. Essential Job Functions:  1. Develop Operational Strategies and Processes  a. Develop a plan and process to ensure donors are reminded to pay their pledges. Pledge reminders should be sent on an ongoing cycle with donors having the ability to request a cycle that best meets his/her needs. Oversee and evaluate the implementation of the processes.  b. With the CSO and the RD team, develop a list of needed monthly, quarterly and yearly reports that are needed and that will inform RD strategy and work with the Database Manager to have them run and distributed accordingly.  c. Ensure that all RD operations are documented and implemented efficiently and accurately.  d. Ensure that all forward facing RD professionals have the informational tools they need to effectively raise the needed resources.  e. Provide support for prospect research about giving, grant operations, and direct mail recipients.  f. With Data Base Manager, ensure donor records are updated and accurate and gift entry process is efficient and accurate.   g. With the CSO, develop and submit the yearly RD departmental budget. i. Ensure that the RD office and storage facilities are orderly and have all the tools and technology needed for the department to run smoothly.  2. Supervise Operational and Event Professionals  a. Ensure that the operational and event professionals have the support needed in order to achieve success.  . 3. Development of Departmental Fundraising Collateral  a. Working with RD team and Marketing, design and develop campaign collateral needed to solicit donors and prospects for all efforts and income streams.  b. Ensure that all materials developed adhere to agency wide brand standards and communicate the Case for Giving and Campaign Theme if appropriate.  4. Donor and Prospect Caseload  a. Develop personal relationships and develop and implement individualized strategies for  a minimum of 50 donors and/or prospects with the intent of increasing their involvement and philanthropic giving to BGCSTL and reaching a dollar amount goal. 5. Administrative Duties  a. Prepares for and leads all Resource Development and organizational meetings as well as other appropriate assigned committee meetings. Candidate Qualifications:  1. Bachelor’s degree from accredited college or university in relevant field such as business, journalism, communications, marketing, or related field required, an advanced degree is preferred.  2. A minimum of seven years’ work experience with a minimum of 4 in a management role within a development department preferred.  3. High level of proficiency with fundraising software preferably Raiser’s Edge as well as at MS-Office Suite programs like Word, Excel, Powerpoint.  4. Demonstrated experience and leadership in nonprofit fundraising to advance an organization's mission and goals.  5. Deep knowledge of all aspects of Resource Development and donor centered giving. 6. Strong strategic, organizational and project management skills with a track record of meeting goals in a timely manner.  7. Effective communication, leadership and management skills.
