Title: Sr. Director, Asia Pacific                                                   Supervisor: Vice President, GIE  Location: Singapore Department: Global Industry Engagement (GIE)  Alt Work Eligibility: CWW-Y, Remote-Y    Level: Sr. Director   Summary of Position: The primary role of the Sr. Director, Asia Pacific is to expand AVIXA’s engagement with the Asia Pacific professional audiovisual community and to grow and secure the Association’s relevance to the community within the parameters of the Association’s strategic plan.  For AVIXA, Asia Pacific region covers the Middle East through India, Asia and Oceania.  This is a position of responsibility and leadership in region, representing the AV Industry and AVIXA at events, tradeshows, giving presentations and holding executive business meetings. Major Duties & Responsibilities: * Develop tactical business plans for targeted geographic and vertical markets in the region. * Identify opportunities for the application of the Association’s existing programs and products.  * Surface and evaluate local industry needs and determine the viability of the Association’s engagement in those issues.  * Establish relationships with relevant local and regional organizations to extend the reach and brand recognition of the Association.  * Grow the association’s membership, influence, and revenue in the region. * Lead and develop teams based in India and Singapore. * Alongside new Regional Manager, Middle East, consolidate and develop the region as a single entity and target growth from both AVIXA and show engagement. * Assess membership needs in Oceania and lead those key relationships with partners and Diversified Events for the Integrate Show. Planning * Develop short and long-term business plans in conjunction with Regional Directors and Country Managers to secure the goals of the Association in the region. * Work with local and regional industry advisory groups to identify needs and, when appropriate, develop programs to meet those needs as they support the Association’s strategic plan. * Engage with regional organizations and governmental entities to determine cultural and legal issues that impact existing programs and develop plans to regionalize or replace as appropriate. Financial  * In conjunction with local staff, develop annual regional budget for executive and board approval. * Continuously monitor financial performance and recommend and implement necessary changes to meet budget objectives. * Engage with staff as necessary to assure revenue and expense targets are met. Development * Identify and engage with in-kind organizations to expand brand awareness, develop cooperative relationships, and secure the long-term position of the Association in the market. * Work with industry manufacturers and distributors to develop sponsorship and support of Association activities in the region. * Identify influential channel members and end users to develop as leaders within the region and globally. Member Relationship and Services * Work with Regional Directors and Country Managers to develop and manage key accounts. * Work with staff to develop and support Advisory Groups and Councils in the region. * Develop volunteerism within the membership to support and advance the mission of the Association.  * Monitor, evaluate and adjust regional programs and services as necessary to assure the quality of the offering.  Marketing and Communications * Work with the Association’s marketing and communications group to develop product, pricing, and promotion models appropriate to the region. * Represent AVIXA as the senior staff member in Asia Pacific to the industry and trade press. Staff * Supervise Regional Directors and Country Managers with authority to make personnel decisions within the reporting line. * Develop goals for direct reports and provide feedback on progress toward those goals. * Approve goals and feedback for direct report subordinates. A.) or equivalent strongly preferred Experience Level:               * Minimum of eight years’ related experience in the AV industry at a senior business development, commercial or sales level.   Certifications: * CTS preferred, or equivalent technical and commercial knowledge of the AV industry  Other skills: * To perform this job successfully, an individual should have a comprehensive understanding of AVIXA’s products, programs, and policies; possess a good understating of the industry’s technology, applications, and business models; understand the role of a trade association. * Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  * Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.   * Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. * Attend networking and tradeshow events requiring long periods of standing and traveling domestically and internationally.  * Travel—35-40%    This description describes the general duties and responsibilities of the position.  It is not a complete list of duties and the employee may be required to take on additional duties and responsibilities as required by the needs of the association.  
Responsibilities
The Sr. Director, Asia Pacific is responsible for expanding AVIXA’s engagement with the professional audiovisual community in the Asia Pacific region and ensuring the Association's relevance. This includes developing business plans, establishing relationships, and leading teams in the region.
