JOB SUMMARY:

This position serves as a strategic driver of business transformation, responsible for identifying, shaping, and executing high-impact initiatives that unlock new business opportunities, accelerate innovation, and elevate both commercial and operational performance.
Acting as a thought leader and change agent, the role demands a forward-looking perspective and the ability to translate complex business challenges into clear, actionable strategies that deliver measurable value.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 10+ or 15+ years of business experience required
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business, Engineering, or a related field, required
  • MBA a plus
  • Certified practitioner in lean tools
  • Systemic improvement: Significant career experience in an organization where a business system is part of the culture and the core tools of visual management, problem solving, and kaizen are embedded in all aspects of the business
  • Commercial and Innovation Acumen: Experience working across commercial, innovation, and manufacturing functions to drive performance.
  • Training and Development: Experience designing and delivering education programs to build organizational capability.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

Strategic Leadership: Proven ability to lead business transformation initiatives and drive cross Regularfunctional alignment.
Operational Excellence Expertise: Deep understanding of continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen) and visual management tools.
Change Management: Strong capability in leading organizational change and building adoption of new frameworks and tools.
Collaboration and Influence: Ability to work effectively across global teams and influence senior stakeholders.
Analytical Thinking: Skilled in evaluating complex systems and identifying opportunities for efficiency and impact.
Technology Enablement: Familiarity with leveraging digital tools and platforms to enhance operational effectiveness.

Responsibilities

THE ROLE FOCUSES ON FOUR KEY AREAS:

  1. Driving adoption and execution of BD Excellence across the organization, with emphasis on commercial, innovation, and manufacturing tools.
  2. Leading BD Excellence education to build company-wide capability and engagement.
  3. Managing continuous improvement efforts, including visual management, problem solving, and kaizen.
  4. Partnering with PI and BD Excellence leadership to develop frameworks and training programs that support global adoption. Over time, this role will help embed a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence, streamline processes, and leverage technology to enhance decision-making, accountability, and efficiency across the Diagnostic Solutions organization.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: (PRIMARY DUTIES, ROLES, AND/OR AUTHORITIES)

Strategic Transformation Leadership: Serve as a thought partner to the Worldwide President and Peripheral Intervention leadership team, driving business transformation initiatives that enhance innovation, commercial performance, and operational efficiency.
Lead the adoption and execution of BD Excellence tools and mindset across Commercial, Innovation, and Manufacturing/Operations functions. Act as a change champion in embedding BD Excellence as a new capability within the organization.
Education and Capability Building: Design and deliver BD Excellence education programs, including broad coaching, functional training, and the development of a certified practitioner program to build organizational acumen and engagement.
Continuous Improvement Leadership: Own and facilitate continuous improvement efforts, including Kaizen events, visual management (VM), daily management (DM), structured problem solving, and funnel management to drive sustainable results.
Business Operations Oversight: Own the format and execution of Peripheral Intervention Operational reviews in collaboration with the President, ensuring alignment, accountability, and performance tracking.
Performance Management and Prioritization: Use bowlers, key performance indicators (KPIs), and action plans to drive prioritization, rigor, and results across strategic initiatives.
Matrix Collaboration and Influence: Partner with Peripheral Intervention and BDX BD Excellence leadership, as well as cross-functional and regional teams, to co-develop tools, frameworks, and training programs that support global scalability and alignment.
Team Leadership in a Matrix Environment: Indirectly lead and develop a high-performing team of transformation professionals, providing direction, coaching, and development. Influence and collaborate across matrixed teams to drive adoption and execution of strategic initiatives.
Support Strategic Business Goals: Partner with the President to drive key initiatives through BD Excellence, including revenue growth, gross profit improvement, and operational profit enhancement.
