SENIOR DIRECTOR, GCSAA FOUNDATION, CORPORATE SALES & EVENTS

GCSAA is seeking a hands-on leader to play a vital role to ensure necessary funding is secured to carry out its mission. As Senior Director, this position will lead the GCSAA Foundation (through fundraising efforts that support advocacy, education and research to advance the golf maintenance profession), Corporate Sales (focused on growing revenue through industry partners) and the Conference Events & Meeting Planning team (planning & executing the GCSAA Conference and Trade Show (CTS) and other association events). This senior leadership position will guide a talented multidisciplinary team, foster cross-department collaboration and manage external partnership relationships.

QUALIFIED CANDIDATES POSSESS:

  • Outcome-driven professional with demonstrated track record of success in senior-level leadership position
  • Visionary, strategic fundraising leader with drive
  • Poised to effectively engage and support donors, prospects and industry partners in the golf industry
  • Creative thinking skills with the ability to be flexible and adaptable
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation/public speaking including effective interpersonal and prioritization skills
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, budget conscious environment
  • Effectiveness leading a multi-disciplinary team, as well as being a contributor in a collaborative team environment; ability to build healthy and positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to effectively implement new ideas that improve project quality and success
  • Experienced to deliver constructive feedback in a professional, thoughtful manner
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Communication or related field or equivalent experience. MBA a plus
  • Minimum ten (10+) years of experience in either fundraising, corporate sales, conference events or sports management, including at least five (5+) years at a director level or higher
  • Experience working in a non-profit/membership driven association, valued, but not required
  • Knowledge of golf course management/interest in and exposure to golf industry preferred
  • Ability to travel (>25%), overnight stays included
  • Position will work from our headquarters in Lawrence, KS (successful candidate will reside locally)
