As we expand into new categories, we are seeking a visionary SR/Director of Footwear & Accessories to lead design and development, scale the category globally, and push creative boundaries while staying true to our brand DNA.
The Senior Director of Footwear & Accessories will lead all aspects of product creation for these categories, driving the long-term vision and strategy while delivering innovative and commercially successful collections. This leader will build and manage a high-performing design and development team, foster cross-functional collaboration, and oversee seasonal calendars from concept to market launch. This is a highly creative and strategic role for an individual with a strong aesthetic point of view, proven technical expertise, and a deep understanding of luxury, streetwear, and fashion trends.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERTISE

12+ years of experience in footwear and/or accessories design and development, with at least 5+ years in a senior leadership role.

  • Proven track record of building and scaling global product lines for a luxury, streetwear, or lifestyle brand.
  • Strong technical expertise in footwear construction, materials, and manufacturing processes.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with experience building, mentoring, and leading design teams.
  • Deep understanding of fashion trends, consumer insights, and cultural influences.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, able to influence at all levels.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Define and execute SKIMS’ creative vision for footwear and accessories, ensuring alignment with brand positioning and core values.
  • Deliver trend-right, innovative product lines each season, balancing brand storytelling with commercial viability.Oversee conceptual direction, material innovation, design language, and product storytelling.

Lead end-to-end design and development processes, including ideation, prototyping, fitting, and refinement, ensuring design intent is preserved.

  • Partner with merchandising, product development, and sourcing teams to optimize assortments and achieve margin targets.
  • Drive category growth strategy, identifying white space opportunities, partnerships, and collaborations.
  • Champion sustainability and innovation across materials, packaging, and manufacturing processes.

Build, mentor, and inspire a team of designers, developers, and technical experts.

  • Collaborate with merchandising, marketing, production, and supply chain to ensure timely product launches and cohesive brand storytelling.
  • Act as a key stakeholder in strategic planning, brand campaigns, and go-to-market strategies.

Own the seasonal calendar and ensure all milestones are met for on-time delivery.

  • Partner with technical and sourcing teams to ensure quality, fit, and performance meet SKIMS standards.

    • Manage budgets, vendor relationships, and external design resources.
