The Senior Director, High Acuity Care is responsible for leading the global HAC engineering organization, aligning engineering goals with the overall strategic objectives of the business. This includes delivering high-quality digital solutions and IB support, roadmap alignment, technology excellence, continuous improvement, R&D operations, and talent management.
This role reports to the VP of Engineering for Platforms and Applications of PCS.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A degree in Engineering or a related field. A master’s degree or professional engineering certification is an added advantage.
  • A minimum of 15 years of professional experience in software development, with at least 5 years in leadership roles.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team of engineers.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
  • In-depth knowledge of software technologies, cloud computing, medical device design, development, and production processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with other departments and stakeholders.
Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • R&D Delivery and Execution: Accountable for the delivery of PCS HAC engineering deliverables, including innovation projects, NPI deliverables, design change programs, IB complaint handling, service packs, and field actions as required.
  • Engineering Excellence and Continuous Improvement: Develop strategic initiatives to enhance engineering productivity, accelerate feedback, and improve product quality and margins.
  • Quality and Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all engineering activities comply with GEHC health and safety regulations and quality standards.
  • Engineering Operations and Finances: Manage the engineering budget, resource allocation, and explore alternative financing methods to support innovation. Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Engineering Tools and Infrastructure: Drive strategies to adopt and maintain technology infrastructure, tools, and practices for sustainable engineering activities.
  • Talent Management: Recruit, develop, and retain top engineering talent. Lead the global HAC engineering organization. Build and define organizational models, succession plans, global site strategies, and partnership models to ensure engineering capacity for programs.
