Description
Delivers complete solutions spanning all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) (design, implementation, testing, delivery and operations), based on definitions from more senior roles. Advises immediate management on project-level issues Guides junior engineers Operates with little day-to-day supervision, making technical decisions based on knowledge of internal conventions and industry best practices Applies knowledge of technical best practices in making decisions Deliver scalable reporting solutions that empower merchants with actionable insights. Improve reliability and efficiency of Hyperwallet's reporting infrastructure. Contribute to the modernization of reporting systems, leveraging cloud-first and data-driven approaches. Build trust with merchants by ensuring reporting accuracy, transparency, and timeliness. Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience and a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience. 5+ years of experience in software or data engineering, with a focus on reporting, analytics, or large-scale data processing. Strong proficiency in SQL and experience working with relational and big data systems (e.g., BigQuery, Snowflake, Hadoop, Hive). Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Java, Python, or Scala. Hands-on experience with ETL/EDW pipeline development and data warehousing. Familiarity with BI/reporting tools (e.g., Looker, Power BI, Tableau) and data APIs. Experience working in financial services, fintech, or payment platforms. Knowledge of payout/reconciliation processes and merchant reporting needs. Familiarity with distributed systems and stream processing (e.g., Kafka, Spark). Strong problem-solving and debugging skills, with attention to detail. Excellent communication skills and ability to work across cross-functional teams. A proactive mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
