Job Title: Sr. Engineer, Control Systems Engineering Job Description: The Role: The Gas Purification section of APS has increasing need of Control Systems Engineers to support the diverse existing and emerging technology platforms as well as evolving customer demands. This position is a senior CSE position. It is expected that this individual will not only be an individual contributor, but also be a team spokesperson for interfacing regularly with the US team. In this role you will: The Senior Control Systems Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing advanced control systems and automation solutions for industrial processes. This role involves leading projects, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and optimizing system performance to improve efficiency and reliability Responsibilities Design & Development: Develop PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems for industrial automation. Create electrical schematics and control panel layouts using CAD tools. Designing new systems from scratch with functional process design Programming & Integration: Program and troubleshoot PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.), HMIs, and motion control systems. Integrate sensors, actuators, and instrumentation into automated systems. Troubleshooting, making changes to existing systems on production floor (hardware & software) Support Field Service Engineers in commissioning & post-sales activities Project Leadership: Lead automation projects from concept through commissioning. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (mechanical, electrical, software). Leadership/mentorship of other team members Attending multi-functional meetings, representing Team Testing & Commissioning: Perform FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing) and SAT (Site Acceptance Testing). Ensure systems meet performance, safety, and compliance standards. Optimization & Maintenance: Analyze system performance and implement improvements. Provide technical support and training for maintenance teams. Documentation: Prepare detailed technical documentation, including wiring diagrams, control logic, and user manuals. Traits we believe make a strong candidate: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or related field. Experience: 7+ years in industrial automation and controls engineering. Strong experience with PLC programming (Rockwell, Siemens), SCADA systems, and industrial networks (EtherNet/IP, Modbus, Profibus). Process Industry experience (chemical, metallurgical etc.) Skills: Proficiency in electrical design software (AutoCAD, EPLAN, SolidWorks). Knowledge of industrial standards (NFPA 79, IEC 61131, IEC 61508, OSHA, etc.). Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Preferred: Experience in robotics, motion control, and Industry 4.0 technologies. Familiarity with MES and ERP integration. Experience with Safety Instrumented Systems desired Control Systems PE will be a plus Soft Skills: Excellent communication and leadership abilities. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
