Description

Overview Under general supervision, the Quality Data Engineer II provides support to the Quality Division to ensure that proper data collection tools, processes, and analysis are in place. Establishes, improves, and maintains systems for capturing and reporting of key quality metrics. May assist with the training and development of quality associates. Responsibilities Proactively engages with associates from the Global Quality Division to understand quality engineering processes and their related data systems, identify and respond to quality data needs, assess potential solutions, and drive execution and implementation of such solutions. Partners with business teams, project leaders, and applications users to collect, analyze and prioritize data quality requirements. Conducts research and analysis to identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data storage and delivery, re-designing the quality data infrastructure for greater scalability, etc. Assists in the development of best practices for data collection, storage, management, maintenance, reporting and security. Support the continuous improvement of quality’s system’s foundational procedures, guidelines, and standards. Provides training, guidance, technical support, and administrative services for global quality systems / databases. Serves as Quality Division’s Point of Contact engaging with IT to provide requirements related to the division continuous improvement data initiatives, data process enhancements, metrics reporting, and corporate data projects. Ensures systems are aligned with current business objectives. Performs root cause analysis of business processes and system problems and recommends solutions that prevent problem reoccurrence. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or other closely related bachelor’s degree. Minimum of 5 years of experience using data analysis and quality tools or equivalent advanced degree. Proven experience in using SAP S4HANA, Microsoft Power Platform (specifically PowerApps, and Power Automate), Microsoft Excel (advanced), Tableau, and Minitab to store, process, analyze, and report data. Experience with the following systems / infrastructures is a plus: AWS Data Lake, Snowflake, Informatica, Reliance EtQ, SharePoint Online. Technical proficiency with Python, SQL, C, SAS, JAVA, Excel VBA, is strongly preferred. Familiarity with basic quality tools is desirable, such as Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Statistical Process Control (SPC), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP). Ability to think logically and constructively about problems, clearly communicate findings of analysis, and propose solutions that address expressed needs within the project or related system. Very strong data analysis skills. Ability to detect changes and trends and determine their importance. Able to work on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data or situations require evaluation of identifiable factors. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions for difficult and diverse assignments. Strong verbal and written communications skills. Ability to communicate effectively with internal customers to resolve technical issues and offer effective solutions.
