POSITION OVERVIEW

TogetherMD is seeking a Senior Engineering Subject Matter Expert (SME) in LLM Fine Tuning and Design to join our team as a remote, independent contractor. This is an exciting opportunity for a recognized expert to help shape the future of AI-driven healthcare solutions. You will work closely with our engineering and product teams, providing 6–8 hours per week of high-impact contributions to the design, fine-tuning, and deployment of large language models (LLMs) within our revenue cycle management platform.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 7+ years of experience in machine learning, with a focus on NLP and LLMs.
  • Deep hands-on expertise in LLM fine-tuning, training, and evaluation (e.g., GPT, Llama, Mistral, or similar).
  • Strong experience deploying LLMs to production environments (preferably in healthcare or regulated industries).
  • Proficiency in Python, PyTorch, and cloud-native ML infrastructure (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker).
  • Demonstrated ability to translate business and product requirements into technical designs.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to mentor and collaborate in a remote team environment.
  • MS or PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field preferred.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as the lead SME for LLM model selection, fine-tuning, evaluation, and deployment strategies tailored to healthcare revenue cycle use cases.
  • Advise on the integration of LLMs into TogetherMD’s SaaS platform, collaborating with engineering, product, and analytics teams.
  • Guide the development of infrastructure and tooling to accelerate the LLM model development lifecycle.
  • Translate business and clinical requirements into robust, scalable technical solutions.
  • Stay current with the latest advancements in LLMs, generative AI, and machine learning best practices, and share insights with the team.
  • Mentor and collaborate with internal engineers to elevate TogetherMD’s AI capabilities.
