General Summary/Responsibilities: Premier Health utilizes the Epic system as the electronic medical record (EMR) in which patient health information is entered and stored for the purpose of securing patient clinical information and enhancing patient care. Premier Health employs multiple Epic Teams that specialize in a range of applications within the Epic EMR. The Sr Epic Programmer Analyst - Research position specializes on the Epic EMR applications that support research, research billing, and clinical trials. This position is responsible for analysis of complex workflows, advanced system configuration and development, application deployment and support, change documentation, and will educate and inform staff on Epic functionality. The individual will anticipate business needs and think with a business owner mind-set based on a strong fundamental knowledge of their application and how it integrates with other systems. This individual will understand the organizational infrastructure and can recommend solutions that enable the enterprise to achieve its goals. These responsibilities require the individual to be a knowledge leader for their systems and/or applications. The individual delivers results across multiple teams to provide solutions for the enterprise. The position requires frequent direct interaction with a wide and varied customer base that includes Principal Investigators, researchers, clinicians and billing. This position can be 100%25 out-of-state remote within the continental United States. Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States. Knowledge/Skills: Demonstrates specialized knowledge of and expertise in: relevant systems, applications, reports and interfaces. Delivers solution sets for systems and application problems. Demonstrates proficiency in all skills required to facilitate application and systems enhancements or replacements. Capability to analyze and resolve highly complex system integration problems. Demonstrates an expert understanding of clinical and/or business operations. Communicates effectively with users, colleagues, developers, and organizational administration. Demonstrates excellent analytical skills. Collaborates with cross-functional work teams with minimal supervision. Ability to leads complex projects, including system design documentation, procedures, process and data flows, and provide recommendations for system enhancements and replacements. Demonstrates advanced interpersonal skills to effectively interface with department leadership and staff, physicians, vendors, and consultants. Able to effectively communicate technical subjects to non-technical customers. Qualifications: Minimum Level of Education Required: Associate degree Additional requirements: Type of degree: Associate Degree with 6 plus years job experience & 3 years Epic experience or Bachelor Degree with 4 plus years job experience & 2 years Epic experience Area of study or major: Medical Technology, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, Nursing, Pharmacy, or Medicine. Licensure/Certification: Epic application certification in primary area of responsibility within 6 months in position is required. Certifications required for this position are: Epic Research - Clinical Epic Research - Billing
