Description

The Senior Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for projects involving curtain wall, window wall, aluminum panels, louvers, canopies, and other façade elements. This role requires a deep understanding of façade construction, materials, fabrication processes, and installation methodologies.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum 5–7 years of estimating experience specifically within the aluminum and façade industry.
  • Strong technical understanding of curtain wall, cladding, glazing, and other façade systems.
  • Proficient in take-off and estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, OST, Planswift, Excel).
  • Ability to interpret and analyze complex construction documents.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple bids under tight deadlines.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience working on large-scale commercial or high-rise façade projects.
  • Knowledge of 3D modeling/BIM tools is an asset.
  • Familiarity with international building codes and performance standards related to façades.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze architectural and structural drawings, specifications, and tender documents to understand project scope.
  • Prepare detailed quantity take-offs for aluminum and façade systems.
  • Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors to obtain accurate pricing for materials, fabrication, and labor.
  • Evaluate bid requirements, timelines, and deliverables to ensure timely submissions.
  • Participate in bid reviews, presentations, and client meetings when required.
  • Recommend cost-saving solutions and identify value engineering opportunities.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, material costs, and construction methods.
  • Assist in developing estimating tools, templates, and pricing databases.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and procurement during project handover.
