Position Summary The Senior Facilities Specialist (SFS) reports to the Senior Associate Director of Operations & Logistics and oversees administrative operations for the Driver-Helper Unit, including transportation, events support, shuttle operations, training, waste management, and logistics. This includes the overall management of transportation services, waste management operations, athletic team support logistics, scheduled and unscheduled shuttle operations, asset relocations, coordination of surplus assets, and staff training. The SFS supervises assigned bargaining unit staff that may include full time, part time, student, and temporary employees; recommend and/or implement policy and procedural changes; respond to questions about services and/or facilities, from students, parents, internal and external customers; participate in the financial success of the operation; provide a safe and secure environment for employees, students and customers; work with various University departments and ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal government agencies. Performs other job-related duties as assigned. Must have a valid US driver’s license or the ability to obtain one if hired. Required Education and Experience *At minimum of two (2) or more years of directly related job experience and/or training. *An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Required Skills and Abilities *Valid CDL, Class B with passenger endorsement without air brake restriction. *Ability to manage employee scheduling, work assignments, communication, and personnel development. *Ability to evaluate employees’ performance, give regular feedback, maintain compliance with bargaining unit contracts, and conduct annual performance reviews. *Ability to monitor work activities to ensure compliance with policies and procedures. *Ability to make recommendations for changes and improvements to existing standards, policies, and procedures. *Must be able to lead the development of new programs, policies, and other special assignments as needed. *Must be able to provide periodic staff training modules that include detailed job orientation at the start of employment, as well as through regular staff meetings and ongoing training to ensure regulatory compliance Temple University is committed to a policy of equal opportunity for all in every aspect of its operations, including employment, service, and educational programs.
