Description:

Summary: Reporting to the VP of Finance, the Financial Analyst will collaborate with the VP of Finance, Controller, and Operating Management to conduct a wide range of financial analytical work. This includes building and presenting key operational performance metrics to improve the quality, timeliness, and accuracy of financial reports and a better understanding of profitability and return drivers.
The Financial Analyst is responsible for the analysis and reporting of Operational performance by producing regular analytical reports and models, as requested by Senior Management.
This position has supervisory responsibilities, Accounts Receivable team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.
· Preparation of monthly financial reports and management analysis.
· Provides variance analysis, modeling, and other reports as required to analyze, track, and identify financial results and gaps, along with actionable insights and recommendations.
· Leverages data cube to build robust margin reporting, labour reporting, and purchase reporting to help improve profitability.
· Works closely with Sr. Accounting Manager and VP of Finance to develop standardized reporting and streamline recurring work.
· Ensures integrity of financial data in compliance with ASPE/GAAP and internal policies, procedures and controls to safeguard the company’s assets.
· Assists in annual budgeting and forecasting cycles: preparation, ongoing revisions and completion.
· Assists in external and internal audits.
· Assists in special projects as required.
· Builds a healthy working atmosphere where teamwork, communication, and a strong focus on LEGACY culture and values are expected.
People management
· Other duties, as required, may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

· Experience in Supply Chain industry (preferred but not required)
· Strong analytical, statistical, modeling, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
· A demonstrated ability in developing strong relationships with good communication skills
· Strong assessment skills and ability to identify issues and provide recommendations
· Ability to interact with Senior Management and convey ideas, processes and results
· Advanced Excel and data manipulation skills
· Experience with Business Intelligence (BI) tools and concepts (preferably with Sage Intelligence)
· Strong report writing skills with ability and desire to interpret financial information for non-financial audience
· Budgeting and forecasting experience
· Excellent English communication skills
· Self- starter, results and deadline oriented
· Strong accuracy and attention to detail
· Knowledge of both Canadian and American federal, provincial and state laws and regulations related to financial management (preferred but not required)
· Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Financial Reporting Techniques in both Canada and the US
· Actively promote and live LEGACY values

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Bachelor or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration, or an equivalent discipline. Minimally 6 years of relevant work experience with exposure to financial reporting, analysis, modeling, and planning with a financial accounting team, across North America, preferably with a Supply Chain company.

COMPUTER SKILLS

Above average computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and Windows-based systems, advanced Excel spreadsheets, BI, database, and financial software is required. Experience with Sage ERP and Intelligence tools preferred.
