Description

We are looking for a highly skilled Sr. Financial Analyst to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Toronto, Ontario. In this role, you will oversee complex financial reporting, analysis, and accounting processes for securitization and structured financing activities. Your expertise will contribute to enhancing reporting systems, supporting process improvements, and ensuring compliance with internal controls.

Responsibilities
  • Perform daily remittances and prepare backup documentation, including journal entries and reconciliations, for structured financing vehicles.
  • Complete monthly financial reporting requirements for assigned issuances, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Maintain and update process documentation for new and existing deal transactions, improving templates and workflows.
  • Provide support to internal and external stakeholders regarding regulatory and financial reporting needs.
  • Record and reconcile investments related to securitization activities in accordance with financial instrument standards.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts associated with structured financing products, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare supporting documentation for structured financing activities, including investor and internal management reports.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements, including system enhancements and updated process documentation.
  • Collaborate with Treasury, IT, and other departments to design operational frameworks and address project-related challenges.
  • Maintain and enhance internal controls over accounting processes, supporting audit and compliance reviews.
  • University degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance, with an accounting designation (CPA or equivalent), or in progress.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in finance and accounting within the financial services sector.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong familiarity with financial systems and tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities to interact effectively across teams.
  • Experience with business systems, CRM tools, and data mining techniques is an asset.
  • Detail-oriented mindset and a results-driven approach to deliver timely, accurate outcomes.
