Primary Responsibility:
Support the preparation of SEC filings (10-Q, 10-K, 8-K’s, etc.), internal management reporting and financial results analyses. Perform technical research to ensure financial statements and disclosures are in accordance with U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements. Process internal and external audit requests.

WHAT EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION YOU NEED

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, plus 2-4 years of financial reporting experience; CPA preferred; Big 4 audit experience with public company clients preferred.
• Thorough understanding of GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.
• SOX compliance experience required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and accounting software systems; Oracle experience preferred.
• Experience with Workiva and accounting research tools (CCH or Checkpoint Learning).
• REIT experience is a plus

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Requires the ability to sit for long periods of time, with frequent interruptions
• Requires several hours per day of sitting, getting up and down from chairs, and reaching, or bending
• Requires manual dexterity with normal hand and finger movements for typical office work
• Talking, hearing, and seeing are important elements of completing assigned tasks
• May require travel by automobile and airplane for business
• May require visits to warehouse operations in temperatures at or below freezing
• May require carrying loads related to travel and the occasional lifting, carrying, positioning, and/or moving of objects weighing up to 20 pounds
• Requires the use of various electronic tools

• Support the preparation of SEC filings (10-Q, 10-K, 8-K’s, etc.) and internal management reporting.
• Perform technical research to ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.
• Prepare monthly reporting packages, including financial statements and variance analysis.
• Prepare external financial statements and footnote disclosures.
• Maintain share-based compensation activity reports and disclosures.
• Perform quarterly earnings per share calculations and support annual goodwill impairment testing.
• Assist with the preparation of quarterly MD&A and related non-GAAP disclosures.
• Liaise with investor relations for earnings releases and calls.
• Optimize the use of Workiva for financial reporting and assist with other SEC filings.
• Identify efficiencies and improvements in reporting processes.
• Ensure adherence to SOX controls and perform technical accounting research.
• Assist internal and external auditors and support IT with new accounting solutions.
