JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Associate Director, Health Technology Assessment (HTA) and Health Economics, the Sr. Health Economist supports the development of strategic, evidence-based economic components (e.g., health economic and budget impact models and reports, and indirect treatment comparisons [ITC]) for submission to Canadian Health Technology Assessment (HTA) bodies and public/private payers.
The Sr. Health Economist will work cross-functionally with other PDCI team members, providing technical leadership on the reimbursement submission components related to indirect evidence and health economics.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Graduate degree in a relevant scientific discipline (e.g., health services research, health economics, epidemiology, biostatistics) and 3+ years of experience in evidence synthesis, decision-analytic modeling and HTA reimbursement submissions, or
  • 5+ years of experience in evidence synthesis, decision-analytic modeling and HTA reimbursement submissions.

Responsibilities
  • Leadership on the conception and development of strategic, evidence-based economic components of HTA submission projects including health economic models and reports for submission to Canadian HTA bodies and public/private payers.
  • Technical leadership on cost-effectiveness model build projects, including model design, build, and validation.
  • Technical leadership on ITC projects.
  • Contribute to PDCI’s health economic thought leadership, ensuring PDCI is at the forefront of HE methodology, HTA processes and policy issues pertaining to the needs of our clients.
  • Monitor payer landscape and analyzes potential impacts or emerging trends.
  • Initiate, develop and nurture client relationships through consistently providing sound, trust-worthy information and advice and producing quality deliverables.
  • Mentor/coach staff in decision-analytic modelling and ITCs.
  • Participate in PDCI business development initiatives, including capabilities presentations, and/or attending industry events as required.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Associate Director, HTA and Health Economics.
