Please note that this is a fully on-site role in Irvine, CA. About the Role We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Sr. Manager of Human Resources to join our rapidly growing start-up. The ideal candidate will have a strong background coming from either a start-up or small to medium-sized business and is adept at executing and scaling day-to-day HR operations. The Sr Manager of Human Resources will play a crucial role in managing employee relations, payroll, reviewing and implementing policies, reviewing policies ensuring human resource compliance, and contributing to the overall success of our organization. This position offers a unique opportunity to be a key player in a fast-paced and innovative fintech startup. Responsibilities Handling day-to-day administration and technical HR operations, working closely with our Head of Finance & Controller on overarching future strategic organization planning. Provide strategic guidance and support to senior management on HR-related matters, including talent acquisition, employee development, performance management, and retention. Manage our workforce management software Rippling that unifies HR, IT, and our Finance functions. Conduct thorough investigations into employee complaints and concerns. Solve routine and complex employee relations challenges, conflicts, or disputes in a fair and timely manner. Promote a positive and inclusive work environment through effective employee relations initiatives and conflict resolution strategies. Drive employee engagement initiatives, including recognition programs, feedback mechanisms, and employee surveys. Act as a trusted advisor to employees and managers, providing guidance on HR policies, procedures, and ensure compliance with labor laws and HR best practices. Processes semi-monthly payroll for exempt employees, nonexempt employees, and contractors. Provides payroll & tax compliance support for the finance department. Use HR data to evaluate the effectiveness of initiatives and provide regular reports to leadership. Lead HR efforts during organizational changes, ensuring smooth transitions. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications Must have 5-8 years of experience working as a HR Manager in a small to medium sized business. Must have a Bachelor’s Degree or higher. SHRM-CP or PHR preferred. Start-up experience is strongly preferred. Fintech experience is strongly preferred. Experience in scaling a start-up is highly desirable. Experience in job sponsorship/H1-B sponsorship highly desirable. Experience with end-to-end implementation of HRIS or Payroll systems highly preferred. Experience with Rippling preferred Must be detail oriented and documentation oriented. Compensation The salary range for this position is $120k-$140k (depending on experience).
