We are looking for an experienced Senior Internal Auditor to join our team on a contract basis in Toronto, Ontario. In this role, you will play a key part in evaluating and improving financial controls, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and identifying areas of risk within the organization. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented individual with a strong background in auditing and ICFR to contribute to organizational success.

• Conduct comprehensive audits to assess the effectiveness of internal controls and compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Evaluate and enhance Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICFR) to ensure accuracy and reliability.
• Identify and report on potential risks, providing actionable recommendations to mitigate them.
• Collaborate with various departments to gather necessary data and documentation for audit processes.
• Prepare detailed audit reports and present findings to senior management.
• Monitor the implementation of corrective actions to address identified issues.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of auditing standards and regulatory changes.
• Support the development and improvement of audit methodologies and procedures.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced auditors, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in internal auditing or a related field.
• Strong expertise in auditing practices and ICFR (Internal Controls over Financial Reporting).
• A designation such as CPA, CIA, or equivalent is preferred.
• Proficient in analyzing financial data and identifying patterns or discrepancies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for preparing reports and presenting findings.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Familiarity with relevant regulatory standards and compliance requirements.
• Advanced knowledge of audit software and other analytical tools.
