What We Are Looking For: The Senior Investment Accountant will support the business by providing accounting and financial reporting support for the company’s investment portfolio. We are seeking a driven, self-starter with a solid understanding of the financial services industry. Communication skills are highly important, as well as the ability to problem-solve and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. This role reports to the Director of Investment Reporting, and is a hybrid working opportunity, required to be onsite 3 days a week at our Durham, NC headquarters. What You Will Do: Maintain our portfolio in the investment reporting system (Clearwater) to accurately account for the company’s investments Reconcile Clearwater against bank custodian records and Ares investment systems each month and direct any necessary adjustments to correct issues Support the completion of investment schedules for financial reporting and analysis Perform reporting for mortgage loans and assess income results for accuracy Onboard new asset classes and new portfolios as needed What We Provide: Salaried, DOE Relocation available Full-Time Full Benefits Package Available What We Believe: Not sure if you meet every qualification? Requirements What We Require: BA /BS in business, finance, or related degree Solid technology skills including advanced Excel and PowerPoint Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and financial modeling skills Collaborative approach based on the ability to listen and value others’ opinions MBA / CPA / CFA preferred 5+ years of relevant finance experience, preferably in insurance or financial services
