About the role As a Senior Java developer, you will make an impact by designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software applications. With a focus on Java, J2EE, Spring boot and related Java technologies, you will contribute to innovative solutions that drive business success. You will be a valued member of the Digital Engineering team and work collaboratively with other stakeholders and teams. In this role, you will: · Collaborate with stakeholders to understand and translate business requirements into technical specifications. · Design and document scalable, secure, and reliable system architectures. · Set, enforce, and update technical standards, architecture patterns, and coding guidelines across projects. · Ensure that all systems meet security, compliance, and quality standards required by the organization. · Communicate with end-users (clients) and interact with technical teams. · Troubleshoot end-user’s issues and determine the root cause of the issue. · Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, providing timely and effective solutions to ensure minimal disruption to the end-users. · Learn end-to-end flow for new applications. · Monitor applications, handle outages/maintenance/upgrade activities. Based on this role’s business requirements, this is an onsite position requiring 5 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in McLean, VA. What you need to have to be considered: · Hold a bachelor’s degree in computer science or related, and 6+ years of relevant experience in Java and J2EE development programming. · 7+ years of IT experience in implementing Java 8, J2EE, and related Java technologies. · Expertise in Java 8, Multithreading, Microservices. · Hands on experience on AWS. · Hands on experience on DevOps. · Gained experience in Design Patterns. · Experience in implementing Java Spring Boot. · Proficiency in Advanced SQL. · Good exposure and progressive experience working on AWS Cloud and integrations. · Strong hands-on experience on Spring core and Spring JPA. · Experienced in using GIT and Maven. · Good with CI/CD – Jenkins. Salary and compensation: The annual salary for this position will be between $68k to $114k depending on the experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
