The Role
We are looking for an innovative individual who can lead the security advancement and compliance of the platform engineering organization. This includes identifying Lumen policy and industry certification gaps, collaborating with stakeholders on options to remediate the gaps, and providing oversight during remediation to ensure a compliant solution is implemented. As a key member of the team, this role is critical in ensuring the secure and compliant operation of our platforms. The successful candidate will influence security policy and technology directions, protecting our systems against evolving threats.

This is a work from home position within the US.

The Main Responsibilities

  • Assess industry advances in technical security technologies and provide implementation recommendation options.
  • Automate the testing of Lumen policy and industry certification control requirements to validate compliance status.
  • Partner closely with platform security architect and platform engineering leads to prioritize remediation of compliance gaps.
  • Collaborate with platform engineering teams to remediate compliance gaps.
  • Evangelize security and compliance best practices at every opportunity.
  • Regularly review and update security documentation to ensure it reflects current industry standards and practices.

What We Look For in a Candidate

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science
  • 10+ years of software engineering experience including security, compliance and software architecture

Compensation
This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.
Location Based Pay Ranges:
$129,639 - $172,852 in these states: AL, AR, AZ, FL, GA, IA, ID, IN, KS, KY, LA, ME, MO, MS, MT, ND, NE, NM, OH, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, UT, VT, WI, WV, and WY.
$136,121 - $181,494 in these states: CO, HI, MI, MN, NC, NH, NV, OR, and RI.
$142,603 - $190,137 in these states: AK, CA, CT, DC, DE, IL, MA, MD, NJ, NY, TX, VA, and WA.
