MAINTENANCE SUPPORT ENGINEER

Location: Oakdale, MN
Salary: $61,000 to $91,000 (DOE)
Schedule: 2nd shift (12:00 PM to 9:00 PM)

We’re seeking a Maintenance Support Engineer to support 2nd Shift production, Quality Assurance, and Engineering teams. This role will focus on process improvements, troubleshooting, supporting production with proper equipment usage, and driving initiatives to minimize downtime and improve operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities

Maintenance Support

  • Develop and manage a Scheduled Maintenance System to track and report machine maintenance.
  • Maintain inventory of repair parts and critical components to reduce downtime during maintenance or repairs.
  • Provide ongoing reporting on maintenance and repair activities to leadership.
  • Lead and participate in installation of new equipment.
  • Supervise and participate in scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities.
  • Continuously improve response time and availability for unscheduled machine issues.
  • Evaluate and update maintenance procedures as necessary.

Process Engineering Support

  • Assist in continuous process improvement initiatives.
  • Serve as a technical resource for manufacturing and process-related concerns.
  • Plan and manage assigned projects, balancing time, material costs, and project scope.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field; or 5+ years of relevant experience in a manufacturing/maintenance role.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, CAD software, Statistical Process Control (SPC), Design of Experiments (DOE), PLCs, and automated assembly equipment preferred.
  • Understanding of stencils, dies, and IPC-610 standards or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with ISO procedures and Surface Mount Equipment Manufacturers Association (SMEMA) standards.
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills, with the ability to adapt communication style based on audience (management, production, customers, vendors).
  • Experience using ERP systems (experience with 4th Shift ERP is a plus).

Physical Demands & Work Environment
This role requires standing, walking, climbing, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Work is performed on the production floor near moving equipment and occasional exposure to airborne particles. Noise level is moderate.
