REQUIREMENTS:

The successful candidates should have this knowledge, skills and abilities:
In-depth knowledge and proven track record in large scale data processing technology
Experience with building and operating cloud-native services
Experience with leading and managing software engineering teams across distributed systems and performance.
Experience with working as one team regardless of organizational or functional boundaries.
Experience with setting and driving innovation strategies at both technical and organizational levels to drive business objectives.
Experience with solving sophisticated real-world problems using advanced technology to deliver compelling product experiences.
Familiarity with architectural patterns of large, high-scale applications.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.

ROLE:

As the Senior Manager of Engineering for the Analytics Engine Management team, you will modernize the Splunk Platform to address evolving customer needs, extending our platform with new analytics engines to query different types of data. You will develop the organization and culture to support this mission through leadership by example, delivering on innovations to our query platform, collaboration across teams, and delivering customer outcomes.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The responsibilities of this role include:
Drive the engineering design and implementation to provision and manage new query engines
Build cloud-native services to support rapid iteration and scalability
Develop a deep understanding of the business strategy and products to influence technical solutions by quickly assessing and mitigating risks
Drive planning and execution of query engine innovation in the Splunk technology stack.
Identify and develop investigations that will guide future efforts in evolving our analytics capabilities.
Develop team structure with clear responsibility and accountability for progress, for learning, for communicating, and meeting business objectives.
Identify technical obstacles early and work closely with teams to find solutions.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members to ensure the continuous development of their technical and professional skills.
Work across geographies to drive our global strategy to support our customers worldwide.
