The Risk Analytics team plays a vital role in protecting our buyers, sellers, and platform by leveraging advanced analytics, AI, and engineering to prevent fraud, enforce compliance, and combat prohibited, restricted, and counterfeit items. As a Sr. Manager in Risk Analytics, you will form and lead cross-functional team that builds and maintains scalable data systems. You will have the opportunity to set strategy, deliver insights, and drive measurable impact in protecting our global marketplace. This role reports to the Director of Risk Analytics and is central to eBay’s success in building trust at scale. What you will accomplish Shape eBay’s risk & compliance strategy by leading analytics and insights initiatives that safeguard against buyer, seller, and compliance risks. Build scalable data systems by guiding the development of robust data pipelines, models, and monitoring frameworks that enable timely and accurate detection of problem. Define and measure success through metrics, dashboards, and reporting that clearly communicate marketplace health and guide decision-making across teams. Drive experimentation and inference by applying advanced techniques including simulations, scenario modeling, and A/B testing to evaluate policies and risk & compliance controls. Deliver actionable insights that guide teams to achieve desired outcomes balancing marketplace safety with a seamless customer experience. Lead and grow a high-performing team, fostering collaboration, professional growth, and data driven culture. What you will bring Proven leadership experience managing high-performing analytics or engineering teams, including hiring, mentoring, and providing clear performance feedback. Strong technical expertise in SQL, Python, data modeling, and pipeline development; experience with big data environments (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) and analytics engineering best practices. Ability to translate complex data into clear strategies and recommendations for partner teams. Strong communication and storytelling skills to influence leaders and stakeholders at all levels.
