SR. MANAGER, APPLICATIONS DEVELOPMENT (AI)

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager, IT (AI) to join our AI organization and manage a team of data scientists and engineers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in machine learning and generative AI, proficiency in Python, experience with the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) software stack along with leadership experience in managing AI and data science teams. This role involves leading complex data science projects focused on healthcare applications, developing innovative AI solutions, and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to integrate AI, Generative AI, and data-driven solutions into business operations. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, AI, Statistics, or a related field. A PhD is a plus
• 4-8 years of experience in data science or a related field, with a focus on healthcare applications and with at least 3 years in a management role
• Expertise in machine learning, deep learning, with Large Language Models (LLMs), NLP, and Generative AI techniques
• Strong understanding of healthcare data sources, healthcare informatics, and clinical data standards
• Proven experience in deploying AI/ML and Generative AI models in production environments using cloud platforms such as Google Cloud (Vertex AI, BigQuery), AWS, or Azure
• Hands-on experience with Python, scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, SQL, and AI/data science frameworks
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work on complex, multidisciplinary projects
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including clinicians and healthcare professionals
• Proven track record of leading successful data science projects in the healthcare industry

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience with electronic health records (EHR) data and healthcare interoperability standards (e.g., HL7, FHIR)
• Experience with containerization tools and technologies, particularly Docker

• Manage, mentor, and develop a team of data scientists and AI engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
• Hands on development and management of the design, training, and deployment of AI/ML models, Generative AI applications, predictive analytics, and data-driven insights to solve healthcare-focused problems
• Ensure best practices in data science and AI are followed across the team and ensure alignment with business and IT objectives
• Utilize the GCP software stack (Vertex AI, BigQuery, AI Platform, Dataflow, etc.) to manage and analyze large healthcare datasets
• Use Python to build, test, and deploy data science solutions
• Partner with AI Operations to ensure robust AIOps practices for responsible AI, model monitoring, retraining, and model governance in GCP environments
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including clinical experts, to integrate AI, Generative AI, and data science solutions into enterprise applications and workflows
• Stay current with the latest advancements in data science, machine learning, generative AI, and healthcare analytics
• Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders, including healthcare professionals and senior leadership.
• Lead the development and deployment of Generative AI models, including Large Language Models (LLMs), to enhance automation, content generation, and business intelligence
• Ensure AI, Generative AI, and data initiatives adhere to security, compliance, and responsible AI guidelines
